ST. CLOUD — A battle of state-ranked teams turned lopsided on Friday as No. 6-ranked St. Cloud Cathedral earned a dominant victory against No. 17 Rochester Lourdes, 8-0 in non-conference boys hockey.

Rochester Lourdes struggled to stay out of the penalty box for two periods and it proved costly in a 3-2 boys hockey loss to Mound Westonka on Tuesday at Graham Arena.

Rochester Lourdes has played 11 games in the first five weeks of the girls hockey season.

Rochester Lourdes continues to play well against ranked teams -- and Class AA teams -- but the Eagles came up just shy against a very good Eagan team on Saturday, falling 6-4 in a girls hockey game at Graham Arena.

VADNAIS HEIGHTS — Rochester Lourdes used a balanced offensive attack and strong goaltending to earn a 4-2 boys hockey victory against Mounds View on Thursday.

HAYFIELD — The No. 4-ranked team in Class A volleyball flexed its muscles against Rochester Lourdes on Thursday.

Kilian Schotzko had his first three-goal game as second-seeded Lourdes rolled to a 12-1 victory over No. 15 Plainview-Elgin-Millville in the opening round of Section One, Class A play in boys soccer on Tuesday.

Top-seeded Lourdes had little trouble in its Section One, Class A first-round girls soccer game with a 9-0 victory over No. 16 Schaeffer Academy on Tuesday.

Lake City coach Al Orthaus could see it. And the Lourdes girls tennis team was in complete agreement with him.
